The
Alley Cats
America's Premier Doo-Wop Group
 Friday,
April 8, 2005 - 8:00 p.m.
TAMU-CC Performing Arts Center
“The Alley Cats are a perfect
blend of musical talent and comic timing. Their interaction
with audiences combined with their spontaneous |

humor makes each show refreshing
and exciting. Royce, Juan, Mando, and Sean never miss a beat
as they bring their own contemporary style to the great songs
of the 50s and 60s. Together, their freshness and talent make
them truly the Cat's meow! Tight harmonies, universal humor,
and unbelievable a cappella energy have made The Alley Cats
‘America's Premier Doo-Wop Group.’” (Source:

We are proud to present The Alley Cats in our Inaugural Concert
Series to showcase their exceptional a cappella voices in the
acoustically state-of-the-art Performing Arts Center at Texas
A&M University-Corpus Christi. The sound design elements
of the Performing Arts Center are intended to bring out the
best in an acoustic performance of this kind.

The
Ying and St. Lawrence Quartets perform sextets by Strauss and
Tchaikovsky; and an octet by Mendelssohn. The final performance
of 2004-2005 Corpus Christi Chamber Music Society.
Now in its second decade, the Ying
Quartet continues to develop ways of making artistic and creative
expression an essential part of everyday life. As Quartet in
Residence at the |
|
 |
Eastman School
of Music of the University of Rochester, the Ying Quartet plans
and directs a rigorous, sequential chamber music curriculum
that integrates intensive musical instruction with training
in creative presentation and communication skills, and includes
practical performance opportunities throughout the greater Rochester
community.
Having walked on stage together over 1500 times in the last
twelve years the St. Lawrence String Quartet has established
itself among the world-class chamber ensembles of its generation.
The group continues to build on its reputation for imaginative,
spontaneous music making that the Washington Post calls "emotionally
high charged but never out of control."
